What would you expect from a teaser trailer?

While editing my final version of my teaser trailer, I need to make sure I include all of the things that are expected of a trailer. To make sure my trailer does contain these things I asked five people, from my class, the following questions.
1)What do you expect from a teaser trailer?
- To be enticed
- To be intrigued
- For it to grab your attention
- To make you want to see the film.
- To grasp an idea what the film is about/what genre it is.
From these answers I have realised that when watching my trailer back I must make sure that these aspects are included. The genre of my film must be clear, and I must be careful to try and keep the trailer exciting.
2)What would you expect from a horror teaser trailer?
- Scary
- To be able to identify the victim
- Tense
- Shocking end
- Leave the viewer on edge/shocked.
While making changes to my trailer I need to make sure I keep my viewers interested and I also need to make sure it contains the key factors of a horror teaser trailer.
3)What do you think would not make a good teaser trailer?
- Too much writing
- For it to be boring
- Lots of straight cuts
- No music/sound effects
- Shot held for too long
As my trailer includes music and sound effects I do not need to worry about the fourth point, however my trailer does contain writing. I need to make sure the writing shots are not shown for too long, so they will not bore the audience
